Your questions…answered!

We want to make sure transparency is a part of everything we do. We have compiled some of our most frequently asked questions below. As always, please feel free to reach out to us with anything else that is on your mind!

What breed of cattle do you raise?

Our cattle raised for beef are a Limousin-Angus cross (LimFlex). Limousin are a French breed known for their muscle, and Angus feature excellent marbling. The cross produces the highest ratio of muscle to fat for delicious beef. We only raise and breed with the best genetics.

Are your cattle grass-finished?

Our cattle are pasture-raised their entire life, rotated and free to roam through our acreage. They are provided hay grown on our farm (haylage in winter). A 14% protein pellet and corn blend with access to mineral tubs and salt is provided. Cattle are on grain 120 days prior to slaughter to add marbling and fat.

Do you give antibiotics or growth hormones? Do you vaccinate the cattle?

No growth hormones are ever given to our cattle. Cattle are only on antibiotics if they are sick or injured for short periods of time, and Limousin cattle are well-known for their strong immune systems. Cattle can not be sent to slaughter within the withdrawal period of time set forth by the USDA. Our cattle are vaccinated throughout their lives to keep them healthy and disease-free.

How long is your meat aged?

Our beef is dry aged a minimum of 21 days to bring out the flavor and tenderness. You will not be disappointed!

At what age are your cattle slaughtered?

Typically cattle are ready for slaughter at 14-16 months old.
